Java / PHP GUI + Database Developer

Creme is looking for an exceptional GUI developer for web and/or desktop applications.

We require a software engineer to develop interactive Java or PHP interfaces for our risk analysis and/or photo search applications.

This position will require a knowledge of both server-side technologies such as Java/J2EE/PHP/MySQL, and client-side GUI technologies, such as Swing/Qt/HTML/JavaScript/AJAX/CSS.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

Honours (greater than 60%) degree from numerate discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics).

Proven experience developing server side applications using Java/J2EE/PHP.

Proven experience creating clean, intuitive user interfaces using Swing/Qt/HTML/JavaScript/AJAX/CSS.

Experience with frameworks for web and desktop software development.

Experience in database design, optimisation and management, particularly using large datasets, in MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle.

The following, while not essential, are desirable:

XHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS.

Experience using Flash / Fireworks.

Systems Administration skills.

Experience developing with Java Web Start.

Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as Dojo / YUI / jQuery.

Experience using Eclipse/SVN.

Professional/knowledge skills:

Attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks on time or before deadline.

Passion for excellent customer experience, and for technology.

Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong communications skills, verbal and written.

Ability to interpret technical and business requirements effectively.

Track record of exceeding goals in a challenging environment.

Fluency in the English language is required.

Remuneration:

Negotiable. DOE.
