Environmental Safety
There are 7 main areas of environmental pollution.- Air Pollution
- Light Pollution
- Noise Pollution
- Radioactive Contamination
- Soil Contamination
- Visual Pollution
- Water Pollution
Environmental pollution can cause severe health damages, such as cancer, asthma and other respiratory diseases, allergies, cardiovascular diseases, lupus and immune diseases.
It is crucial that more research in the field of environmental safety be done and that researchers start collaborating on a world-wide basis. Researchers have reportedly lamented about the fact that there is a vast lack of knowledge of what their fellow researchers are doing and some governmental organisations are reported to hold back important environmental data and thus might put other people in danger. A better understanding of the environmental health risks amongst the common population and a better collaboration amongst researchers is needed.
CRN is closing the information gap amongst researchers by encouraging international collaboration and data exchange.
CREMe provides probabilistic models to allow safety assessors to understand their data and generate more accurate results on contaminants in the environment and their potential health consequences.
